elude: (v) : means :escape the grasp or perception, avoid cleverly
Example : For the full year, given the circumstances, we hope to achieve our revised revenue targets, but profits would still elude us.

allude: means : hint at, make an indirect reference
Example : During his speech at the AGM, he alluded to the ongoing gas price row, but did not get into details.
